Dr. Jonathan Robinson
Dr. Robinson was raised in Akron Ohio and moved to Flagstaff to attend NAU in 1976. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Chemistry in 1979. He then received his Doctorate in Dentistry, Cum Laude, from Ohio State University in 1987. (GO BUCKS!) While attending dental school he was selected as Team Dentist for the OSU Athletic Department. Jon received the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology award for outstanding achievements in the field of pain and anxiety control, and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary Dental Society in May of 1987. He then completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Medical College of Ohio in 1988. This program provided advanced training in each of the six dental specialties as well as in hospital dentistry, anesthesiology, internal medicine, geriatric and handicapped dentistry. As a result of this training, Dr. Robinson is comfortable performing most procedures involved in the field of Dentistry.
Dr. Robinson began the private practice of dentistry as an associate in Flagstaff in 1989, and then began working as a “mobile dentist” in 1991. This job involved providing dental care to children on 12 Indian Reservations throughout Arizona, usually to Head Start school children aged 3 to 5. He loved this position, as it gave him a great deal of experience treating children and also provided him with a better understanding of Native American culture as well as the history and geography of the state of Arizona.
Dr. Robinson began his private practice of “family” general dentistry at Cedar Ave Family Dentistry in October, 1993. His special interests here are in the fields of preventative and restorative dentistry as well as oral surgery, implant placement and cosmetic dentistry.
An active member of The Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Robinson achieved Fellowship status in 2000, and is about to complete his Master status in the Academy. This requires completion of over 1500 hours of continuing dental education, 500 of which is "hands on" training.

He considers himself very fortunate that his wife Karen and two sons Galen and Andrew like to join him on these excursions. More recently he has taken up woodworking with local indigenous timber, making doors, tables, and cabinets.
